Make your place your own
Hi there! Welcome to my home!
Imagine you have guests this evening. How would you like your home to look? Of course, amazing! But most importantly, you’d love your guests to tell you they just feel “at home”, don’t you?
And how can we possibly create that experience? I agree, probably a couple of glasses of wine would help! No, seriously. It’s about home decoration!
My mom used to move around or change furniture and different objects all the time in the house (actually, she still does). I wondered what was the reason for that for a long time… Maybe it was to follow the season change? Maybe she kept changing her mind about it…. or maybe, it was her way to make the place “her own”.
How can you make a place your own? Simple step is to notice what is already in there and doesn’t really mean anything to you, so that you then have the physical space to think about what you’d like the place to be.
When you have a white paper in front of you (that would be your empty room, ready to be decorated!), simply think about the colors and shapes that give you peace or bring you joy.
I wanted to share one array of framed art that I personally have been playing with, to show you how nicely they look together. In this particular case, the arrangement is based in pastel colors, so it might feel a little bit the space for kids, mostly because of the playful pennants.
I’m lucky enough to be the mom to two daughters AND like pastel colors… so yes, that’s my bias and I like it. But of course you can pick any combination of colors.
The point is not the colors, but how you make it your own array in your own cozy spot of what you call home. Enjoy exploring the endless possibilities to decorate and play! Let me know how it goes in the comments and remember to hit the subscribe button if you’d like to hear from me again.
